Marine technician Andrew Naslund crosses Antarctica's treacherous Drake Passage to help scientists study one of Earth's fastest-warming regions. Between deployments on the research vessel, the R/V Roger Revelle (AGOR 24), he photographs the continent's penguins, seals and whales. Veteran visitors say they can see the changes firsthand, from retreating glaciers to disappearing sea ice.
