High winds and dry conditions bring the threat of critical fire danger to the southern and central plains once again. Areas in Texas like Amarillo, Lubbock and Midland need to stay on high alert. The fire threat is still high in other states like New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma and Kansas as winds could gust as high as 75 mph. Any fires that develop will likely spread quickly and be very hard to control.
