A motorist nearly lost his vehicle to Cyclone Alfred’s storm surge on Currumbin Beach in Queensland, Australia. Just as the vehicle began to drift off to sea, he leapt in the driver’s seat and drove the car to dry land. Alfred is expected to make landfall near Brisbane between Friday night and early Saturday local time.
