A​ nor'easter brought heavy snow, rain, damaging winds and coastal flooding to the Northeast on Tuesday into Wednesday.

T​he storm, named Winter Storm Sage by The Weather Channel, is moving away from the region after spreading snow throughout northeast Pennsylvania and New Jersey, eastern and central New York and parts of New England. Some locations were seeing accumulation of 1 inch to 2 inches per hour Tuesday morning.

P​hotos show residents in New Hampshire and Vermont clearing snow from cars and driveways. Several areas reported 36 inches of snowfall, including Marlboro, Vermont, Colrain, Massachusetts, Stony Creek, New York, Moriah, New York, and near Palenville, New York.

T​he heavy snow caused the bubble roof of the New Hampshire Sportsdome in Goffstown, New Hampshire, to collapse early Wednesday, according to WMUR.com. It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was inside at the time of the collapse. Another roof collapse occurred at the Miller Hill Mall in Duluth, Minnesota, Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported.

B​efore hitting the East Coast, Winter Storm Sage brought up to a foot of rain to parts of central California, and an additional 1 to 2 feet of snow to higher elevations in the state. The storm caused major flooding in California as it melted some the snow in mountainous regions— areas that have received more than 10 inches of snow in recent weeks— creating runoff in addition to the storm's flooding rain.
