CSU Predicting Above-Average Atlantic Hurricane Season

Colorado State University has released the first 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season outlook of the year, and it’s looking like this year will be active for the tropics with 17 named storms, nine hurricanes and four major hurricanes of Category 3 or higher. The active forecast is being fueled by anticipated neutral or La Niña conditions and warmer-than-average sea surface temperatures in the Atlantic.
