Major Hurricane Erin has strengthened once again as expected and is now a stronger category 4 hurricane with a growing wind field. Erin is moving away from Turks and Caicos but will impact the Bahamas through Tuesday. Erin is still forecast to pass between North Carolina and Bermuda middle to late week. Mandatory evacuations are underway for parts of the Outer Banks as severe flooding is likely with portions of Highway NC-12 to become impassable for several days.
