Melissa has made landfall near New Hope, Jamaica, as a Category 5 hurricane. This landfall will go down in the record books as one of the strongest anywhere in the Atlantic Basin. The on-going impacts for Jamaica continue to be catastrophic with extreme winds, torrential rainfall, and historic inundation from floods.
