Invest 94L Impacts Caribbean, Moves Northwest

Invest 94L continues to bring heavy rain to the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. As it moves northwest, Invest 94L is projected to further organize, likely taking the name Tropical Storm Imelda as it approaches the Bahamas. Interests in the Bahamas and Southeast Coast of the U.S. should pay close attention to the forecast over the coming days as Invest 94L becomes better organized and comes into close proximity with Tropical Storm Humberto. Tropical Storm Imelda is not guaranteed to form from this system, but there is a possibility that it could reach tropical storm intensity this weekend and even strengthen into a hurricane early next week.
