The National Hurricane Center is tracking Dexter and two other areas in the Atlantic Ocean. The low off the Southeast coast has a lower chance of development as model trends continue to show it staying offshore. However, there will be a higher risk for rip currents along the East Coast beaches over the next few days. The tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic has a better chance of developing into a tropical depression or Tropical Storm Erin over the weekend. Dexter continues to move away from the U.S. across the northern Atlantic.
