NHC Tracking Two Tropical Waves, Likely To Develop

The National Hurricane Center is tracking two tropical waves in the Atlantic. The easternmost wave will likely develop into a tropical depression first, potentially by Thursday or Friday. The second tropical wave, the one just east of the Leeward Islands, is the wave we are more concerned about as any U.S. impacts are uncertain at this time. This wave will bring gusty winds and heavy rain to the Leeward Islands Tuesday and Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands Tuesday night into Wednesday. Beyond Tuesday, slow development is possible and a tropical depression could form near the Bahamas later this week. The next names on the list are Humberto and Imelda.
